Traditional Metal is alive and well in the hands of East Coast metal band Sacred Oath. Grounded firmly in the lighter yet heavier side of metal from the 80’s where Sacred Oath first layed down their riff ladened, hard driving, stratisphereric vocal style of music, the band has carried the metal flag well into the 21st century.
Their latest record World On Fire released in 2010 (A Rockchoice.com Top 20 Hard Rock and Metal Record for 2010) is loaded with what Sacred Oath is all about, tradition. No rap, no vomit vocals, this is metal born out of the bands that influenced vocalist/guitarist Rob Thorne and his band mates (see Top Ten Records – Rob Thorne). You will hear influences from all the masters, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, AC/DC and Iron Maiden, to name a few.
“We had a ton of fun shooting this video,” says singer/guitarist Rob Thorne. “We started in the ’80s and we’re proud to hang on to the fun side of that decade…smoke, haunted forests, aerial fire dancers, what’s not to love?”
Check out the new video below. Also, iTunes is running a special on all 6 Sacred Oath albums this week – only $5.99 each – so it’s a great week for new fans to add some Oath to their iPods!
