Canadian rockers Danko Jones who just wrapped a full-length U.S. tour with Clutch have finally unleashed the video for their current single “Full of Regret.” The film-like video is “one-part ‘Sabotage,’ one-part Guy Ritchie, one-part Quentin Tarantino and it’s pretty much a blast from start to finish,” according to MTV’s Buzzworthy. The video features guest appearances by Lemmy Kilmister of Motörhead, Mike Watt of Minutemen, Firehouse and The Stooges as well as actors Elijah Wood and Selma Blair.
The shot in Los Angeles video begins with narration from acclaimed bassist Mike Watt. As the action-packed story unfolds, Lemmy is portrayed as an irritated mob boss who hires Selma Blair and Elijah Wood to take out Danko Jones. The clip for which the band tapped Josh and Jason Diamond to direct and Joe DeVito at Capital V (Jackass, Viva La Bam) to produce. Watch the full video for “Full of Regret” below.
“Full of Regret” is the first single from the upcoming Danko Jones album, Below The Belt out in the U.S. June 8 via indie Bad Taste Records (distributed by Caroline) and has been garnering serious attention at radio across Europe and Canada since its debut. It currently resides at number five in the College Radio charts in Germany and number #7 on the Active Rock charts in Canada. “Full of Regret” will be serviced to U. S. radio shortly.
For the new album, the trio worked with Matt Dematteo to produce, resulting in 11 furious rock songs that highlight the band’s electrifying mix of hard rock and punk with a classic metal twist. All photos and artwork for Below The Belt are by esteemed photographer Dean Karr (Iron Maiden, Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson).
Below The Belt follows the group’s 2008 release, Never Too Loud. Since then, the band has shared the stage with Motörhead, opened for Guns N’ Roses‘ Canadian tour early this year and completed a successful run at SXSW.
Danko Jones is confirmed to open up for Ozzy Osbourne and Korn in Paris on September 20th. Shows that have been announced so far can be found here.
