Corroded - Eleven Shades Of Black [2009]

There’s a lot of great metal rock music coming out of Sweden these days. Some bands are established, like Wolf (see Hidden Gem Wolf) and Mustasch, and then there’s new start ups like Corroded.

Corroded started out in 2004, and after a couple of jam sessions, the pieces of the jigsaw started to show a picture, it was dark, it was heavy, it was angry and it looked good. It was soon clear that the path of the band would be in the heritage of the heavy rock acts of the 70..s with additional layers of a more modern sound.

The band has recorded three demos and the band’s capacity as a live act has placed them on various stages and venues. The sound of three heavy yet melodic guitars combined with strong vocals and a solid rhythm section has formed the uniqueness of Corroded.

2008 started out with two very successful gigs as the supporting act to Hardrock Grammy Award Winners Mustasch with stunning live reviews. Numerous great reviews of the demo “III” were published in magazines and newspapers. Amongst others, a review in Sweden Rock Magazine 50 stands out, with this being the number one hardrock/metal magazine in Sweden. Four months into the 2008 the band was booked for Sweden Rock Festival, where they played with some of the best and the biggest in the business. By the fall of 2008 came the departure of two original-members that decided to leave the band. Enter drummer Per Soläng and bass-player Bjarne Elvsgård.

The new line-up consisting of Jens Westin (lead guitar/vocals) Peter Sjodin (rhythm guitar) Fredrik Westin (lead guitar/vocals) Per Solang (drums) and Bjarne Elvsgard, (bass) started out with a tour in the U.K. and a record deal with Ninetone Records.

Corroded’s first full length album, ‘Eleven Shades of Black’ was released May 27th, 2009 in Sweden at position no. 18 and was produced by Swedish multi-platinum-selling producer Patrik Frisk.
The band’s debut single, “Time And Again”, entered the Swedish chart at No. 24.
