Black Gives Way To Blue

A new video showing behind the scenes footage from the video shoot for “Your Decision“, the latest single from Alice In Chains awesome album ’Black Gives Way To Blue’ can be viewed below. The clip was directed by Stephen Schuster, who previously worked with Alice In Chains on the “A Looking In View” video. You can also view the finished video below.

The video features the band including newest member, singer William DuVall who had played with his own group, ‘Comes With The Fall’  as well as in Jerry Cantrell’s solo band, before joining up with Alice In Chains in 2006. It also features an appearance by “Project Runway” season three model Amanda Fields.

In a post on Blogging Project Runway, Fields wrote about the video shoot, “It was so much fun and I felt like I was dreaming — the location was so surreal! It was this giant house between Santa Monica and Malibu off of the Pacific Coast Highway. You look out the window and see the beautiful blue Pacific!

“The band members, Jerry, Sean, Mike and William, were fun to work with and the director had such an incredible vision. The stylist, a friend of mine, Cory Savage, really knows how to make a rock video couture! The band members all wore crisp expertly tailored suits and the string quartet wore flowing white dresses with black lace blindfolds!! My wig was made out of feathers!”

“Black Gives Way To Blue” sold 126,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 5 on The Billboard 200 chart. The album  includes pop legend Elton John who contributed piano to the CD’s title track, which is written in tribute to Staley.”Black Gives Way to Blue” was recorded with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Rush) at the Northridge, California studio of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl.
