The Michael Schenker Group
Michael Schenker is done with his acoustic phase and is strapping his signature Dean Flying V electric guitar back on and is going out on tour in the U.S. to continue celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Michael Schenker Group, aka MSG in July and August.
The Michael Schenker Group which consisted of Michael Schenker (guitar) Gary Barden (vocals) and session musicians Don Airey (keyboards) Mo Foster (bass) and Simon Phillips (drums) released their self titled debut record in July of 1980. With kick ass songs like ‘Armed and Ready‘ and ‘Feels Like A Good Thing‘ and the epic ‘Lost Horizons‘ this is a must have record for Schenker fans as well as all hard rock music fans.
From 1986 to 1992 MSG was the acronym for the band’s new name which was McAuley Schenker Group due to the fact that new vocalist Robin McAuley and Schenker shared writing credits.
Michael has had his share of alcohol related problems including numerous concerts being canceled over the years but as of late he is considered clean and sober and is consistently and reliably performing live shows and sounding and playing better than he has for sometime, so don’t miss this tour. I know I won’t
