Can I just say something real quick? I dont give a SHIT about “The Trooper”. “Ghost of the Navigator” DESTROYS the fucking trooper, and I am gonna have a great time tonight. Thank you.

I’m happy with everything and have my tickets i just wish they would throw the trooper and run to the hills in there.. thats stupid not to play it.. i love their new stuff too so don’t get me wrong. i know a lot of people like and want to see their newer stuff but i’m 15 so i didn’t get to see them in every tour.. but oh well.. hopefully they will fix up the set list a bit and throw in those two songs.. if not maybe they next tour they do they’ll play their classics.

Just saw them 2-days ago in Auburn WA. They were better than when I saw them for the 7th son of a 7th son tour 22 years ago. I am very happy with the new songs and am glad I didnt get a rehash of Live after Death (which I have listened to a million times). They still got it! UP THE IRONS!!!!!!

cant beleive this debate is going on over here too- if you’re old enough to remember life before the internet- just go see MAIDEN- the same way you saw them when you were young- you did’nt know what songs they were gonna play- you went because it was MAIDEN- and MAIDEN kicks ass! they kick ass because they refuse to give in to anything that tries to make them into something they’re not- in my opinion thats kind of the defenition of ROCK! these guys still got that feeling and they’re still ROCKIN!- i saw them at san man last saturday and i’m telling you they’ve got a whole new set of younger fans that are rockin just as hard to the new stuff as i rock to the old- i took my 15 year old (first concert)- she’s still wearing her shirt, hasn’t taken it off- thats what rock is about- thats what MAIDEN is about.
and by the way el dorado is a kick ass song!

I agree about the “fans” who have been around long enough (10 years is plenty) to know or at least have no excuse not to know of Iron Maiden’s catalog.
Fans like myself, have rarely missed a tour. Given the choice if it were entirely up to me, I am more happy to see all the kids going for the first time. That’s a beautiful thing, because kids are turning to bands like Maiden, finding what is coming out too suck-ass to take. So a few basics are cool.
I saw the show in Concord, and was overjoyed about the omission of “Run to the Hills”. THANK YOU!!!
Personally, I’m over “Number of the Beast”, “Hallowed be thy name”, “Wrathchild”, “Running Free”, but they have to play some stuff for the new members of the family, as Bruce said.
I am delighted with the concentration of contemporary material. I didn’t hear too much about anyone being unhappy about the show, until the threads.
Last year, they played the Powerslave/Somewhere in Time/7th son tour. Year before that, first 4 albums tour.

JCGDF!!! WHAT DO YOU WANT????
Whining is just annoying!! Remember, they have to try to please everyone, they cant. But IMHO, they do better than any other band at having contemporary material worth hearing. I caught all those other shows.

THATS WHAT MAKES MAIDEN= IRON FKN MAIDEN!!

Thanks for the comment. I was at the San Manuel Amphitheater this past Saturday night and the show ROCKED! I thought it was cool that the boys didn’t play the same songs they always have. It was good to see them stretch out and play newer material.

With such a huge catalog of awesome songs I thought they could have done a longer set to include some more of the songs people want to hear (The Trooper, Run To The Hills, Number Of The Beast, etc.) Maybe have an intermission like RUSH does to take a breather, these guys aren’t getting any younger. Anyway, still an excellent show.

Some of you people are pathetic. IM have 15 albums and you want them to play the same 8 songs so you can make believe you are 15 again sitting in you room staring at the album cover. The setlist (other than Wildest Dreams) is brilliant and I am bummed they took out Brighter than 1000 Suns. IM’s newer material is complex, deep and musically challenging. IF you can;t understand why Paschendale is such a brilliant song, you are in a coma.

Also, comments about how IM should play the same old crap shows that most of those making the comments have never done a thing artistically in their lives. Imagine you bust your ass making great albums and then all of your fans just want “The Trooper?” You ever think about that? To be honest, I would prefer an ALL new material show, without Iron Maiden or Running Free or NOTB. There is such good new stuff (or even older stuff that was not frequently played (22 Avacia Ave, Prisoner, I would go on)that there is really NO need to be stuck on the 80’s like most of IM;s USA fans. It’s sad when ‘fans’ of a band are only fans until the band starts playing the new stuff. If you were a true fan, you would learn to grow with the band and try to understand that they grow as you have apparently not. For all of you who fall into that category, don;t even think of buying tickets for the Final Frontier tour next year, it ain;t gonna be anything you will want to see. But, that’s fine with me, i’ll be able to get better tickets because you wont be there. Up the Irons.

If you are a fan of classic Maiden, sell your tickets. Saw them in Denver, mostly new stuff, boring and took any energy out of crowd playing crap nobody knew. AC/DC seems to be the ONLY classic band that knows what their fans want, the old stuff! Seen maiden half a dozen times since ‘85, won’t go again after this display of self gratification. No trooper, no Number of the Beast, no Run to the Hills. Like AC/DC not doing Back in Black. Lame

saw the denver show last night… the set list was somewhat unexpectedly comprised of some of the newer catalog, yet they still managed to rock in 5 classics… spoiler alert … great show nonetheless! maiden still rocks like nobody’s business! if you will be attending one of the future shows, enjoy yourself!
